About Lyssa

A grounded, empathetic coach with a lifetime of experience in leadership, family, and human complexity

My professional life spans more than 40 years in business, including senior leadership and Chief Executive roles. Throughout my career, coaching was never just a tool — it was the way I led. I supported people through change, uncertainty, and growth long before I formally trained as a coach. 

 

I trained with Barefoot Coaching as an ICF‑accredited coach, and I continue to learn, study, and work with supervision to ensure I offer the highest standard of support. My approach blends professional experience with ongoing personal development, giving clients a thoughtful, grounded, and up‑to‑date coaching experience.

My personal life shapes my coaching deeply

I am an adoptive parent, foster carer, and step‑parent. These roles have taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of creating a calm, non‑judgemental space where people feel safe to be honest.

 

I understand what it means to navigate instability, emotional strain, and complex family dynamics. I know what it feels like to hold everything together for others while trying to stay steady yourself. These experiences allow me to meet clients with genuine empathy and understanding.

A life that includes joy, movement, and community

Outside of coaching, I’m a Zumba instructor — movement has been part of my life since childhood. Dance is where I find joy, release, and connection, and it reminds me that growth doesn’t always have to be heavy.

 

How I coach

My coaching is calm, reflective, and supportive. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help clients see situations from new angles. I don’t rush the process — I meet people where they are and help them move toward what feels right and possible for their lives.

  • A free Discovery/Chemistry session (up to 1 hour)
  • A simple coaching agreement
  • A set number of sessions (usually a minimum of four)
  • Sessions held via video (Teams)
  • A supportive, non‑judgemental space throughout

Please note, face to face sessions can be planned based on location and additional cost.

 

How sessions work

Each session lasts around 60 minutes. You set the direction; I support you with reflection, gentle challenge, and tools that help you think differently and take meaningful action.

Not at all. Some clients arrive with a clear issue; others come simply because something feels “off.” Not knowing where to start is a perfectly good starting point.

You will be supported. Some clients do, some don’t — there is no right or wrong response. All sessions are confidential.

If after the first session it doesn’t feel like the right fit, we’ll explore why, so you can move forward with clarity.
